Brown Gravy

This Brown Gravy is quick and easy with no drippings needed! It's made with beef broth and bullion, giving it a rich deep flavor and it's ready in under 10 minutes. It's the perfect addition to any protein or on top of a mountain of mashed potatoes.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 teaspoon beef bouillon paste or powder
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • salt to taste
  • black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Add the butter to a medium sized saucepan and heat over medium heat. Once the butter melts, add the flour. Whisk until the mixture thickens and forms a roux.
  2. Pour in the beef broth while continuing to whisk.Add salt and pepper and let it simmer for a few more minutes until it thickens to your preference. 
  3. Add the beef bouillon, Worchestershire sauce, garlic powder, and onion powder. Whisk the ingredients together until combined.
  4. While continuing to whisk, bring the mixture to a low boil then reduce the heat to a simmer. Allow the gravy to simmer for a few minutes until the mixture thickens.
  5. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Serve warm and enjoy!
