Ingredients
- 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts about 6 oz each
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic minced
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 ½ teaspoons soy sauce
- ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 450°F. Line a baking sheet with foil or parchment paper.
- In a small skillet, heat the oil over medium heat. Add the garlic and cook just until softened and fragrant—do not brown. Remove the garlic from the stove and stir in the brown sugar, soy sauce and chili flakes.
- Add the chicken breasts to the prepared baking sheet. Top each breast with the garlic brown sugar mixture.
- Bake uncovered for 18 to 22 minutes, or until the chicken reaches 165°F in the thickest part of the meat.
- Transfer the chicken to a plate and let it rest 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
- If the chicken breasts are larger or smaller than 6 ounces each, the cooking time may need to be adjusted.
- Brown sugar substitutes can be used in this recipe.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
