Brownie Brittle
Description
Brownie Brittle begins by melting semi-sweet chocolate with sugars and milk, then combining with eggs, oil, and vanilla extract. Dry ingredients including flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt are folded in, and the batter is spread very thin on a large parchment-lined baking sheet. Optional chocolate chips and nuts top the batter before baking at 350°F for 30-40 minutes until the surface is firm and crisp. Cooling allows it to set fully, after which it is broken into brittle pieces.
The brittle delivers a crunchy texture with deep chocolate flavor and a slight chewiness from strategically melted chips and nuts. It differs from traditional brownies by its thinness and crispness, making it good for snacking or as an ice cream topping.
Ingredients
- ¼ cup light brown sugar
- 1 cup sugar
- 4 ounces semi-sweet chocolate

- Once cooled, add eggs, oil, and vanilla extract to the melted sugar and chocolate. Stir until well combined.
- Fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients and stir until just combined and no flour remains visible.
- Pour the brownie batter onto the cookie sheet and smooth into an even, thin layer. Top with chocolate chips and nuts if using.
- Bake on the center rack for 30-40 minutes or until the top is firm. Rotate the pan halfway through.
- Once baked, remove from over and let cool. Once cooled, break or cut the brownie brittle apart and enjoy.
