Description

This recipe starts by preheating the oven and preparing a mixture of fresh tomato basil bruschetta. A round sourdough bread loaf is hollowed by cutting a circle in the middle, leaving the bottom intact to create a bread bowl. A wheel of Brie cheese is placed inside the hollowed loaf, then topped generously with the bruschetta mixture.

The assembled bread bowl is wrapped in foil and baked, allowing the Brie to melt and the bruschetta to warm and meld with the cheese. After baking, the foil is removed, and the top piece of bread previously cut off is sliced into cubes. These cubes, along with the slits cut around the bread's edge, make it easier to tear apart and dip into the warmed cheesy bruschetta.

Finally, a balsamic reduction is drizzled over the top, adding sweetness and acidity that complements the creamy brie and vibrant bruschetta.   • 2 cups tomato basil bruschetta click link for recipe
  • 1 sourdough bread loaf round
  • 7 ounces Brie cheese round
  • 1 tablespoon Balsamic reduction

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the bruschetta, set aside.
  3. Slice the top ½ inch off of the round of sourdough bread.
  4. Cut a circle the size of the brie from the middle of the sourdough loaf being careful not to cut through to the bottom of the loaf.
  5. Place the brie in the middle of the loaf.
  6. Top with the bruschetta. Place on a baking dish and cover with the top slice of bread. Wrap the entire thing in foil and bake in the oven for 20 minutes.
  7. Remove from the oven, remove the foil and slice the top piece of bread into cubes for dipping up the baked brie and bruschetta goodness! 
  8. Cut slits every inch along the edge of the bread bowl, for easy pulling apart and dipping. 
  9. Drizzle the balsamic reduction over the top and serve.
