Bubble Up Pizza

Report
Bubble Up Pizza is a layered casserole-style dish made by topping biscuit pieces with pizza sauce, shredded mozzarella, and pepperoni, then baked until the biscuits puff and crust edges turn lightly golden. The result is a hearty, gooey pizza-flavored bake with pillowy biscuit base and melted cheese topping.

Description

This recipe uses canned buttermilk biscuits cut into quarters as a base layer in a greased 9x13 pan. Pizza sauce is poured over the biscuit pieces, then shredded mozzarella cheese and slices of pepperoni are distributed evenly on top. The baking process at 350°F causes the biscuits to expand or "bubble up," creating soft, fluffy pockets underneath the sauce and toppings.

The bake produces a combination of textures: tender biscuit centers with slightly crisp edges, rich tomato sauce infused with melted mozzarella, and salty, spicy pepperoni slices. This dish offers an easy alternative to traditional pizza by using pantry staples and minimal prep.

It is served warm and allowed to rest for 5 minutes before cutting to let the layers set. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 to 7 days, making it practical for meal prep or family dinners.

  4. Place them all in the bottom of the 9X13 pan.
  5. Pour pizza sauce over the biscuits.
  6. Sprinkle Mozzarella Cheese on top and top with the pepperoni.
  7. Bake for 25 to 35 minutes (uncover until all the biscuits have bubbled up).
  8. Let sit for 5 minutes before cutting and serving.
