Burrata with Tomatoes and Peach
Description
This recipe assembles halved multi-colored cherry tomatoes and thinly sliced peach on a plate alongside soft, room-temperature burrata cheese balls and green olives. The combination highlights the creamy texture of burrata against the juicy fruit and briny olives. The dish is dressed simply with balsamic glaze and olive oil, providing a sweet acidity and richness respectively. Seasoning with kosher salt, black pepper, and fresh basil leaves adds herbal brightness and seasoning balance.
The contrast of textures—from the tender peach and plump tomatoes to the creamy burrata and slightly firm olives—creates a complex mouthfeel. The balsamic glaze's sweetness complements the peaches and balances the saltiness of the olives and cheese. Slices of toasted baguette provide a crisp vehicle to enjoy the toppings.
Ideal as a light appetizer or part of a summer spread, this dish benefits from fresh, ripe produce and proper burrata temperature to maximize creaminess. Serving with toasted bread allows for easy portioning and enhances the experience.
Allowing burrata to come to room temperature prior to serving improves its texture. Homemade or store-bought balsamic glaze can be used depending on preference. Leftovers should be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator and consumed within two days to maintain freshness.
