Burrito Bowl Recipe (with Variations)

The Burrito Bowl layers seasoned ground beef, warm rice, avocado, pico de gallo, Mexican cheese, corn, sour cream, and cilantro in a bowl. The beef is cooked with taco seasoning to infuse flavor, then assembled with fresh and creamy toppings into a ready-to-eat bowl. This dish offers a balanced mix of textures and flavors ideal for a satisfying meal.

Description

This Burrito Bowl recipe starts with cooked warm rice as the base and ground beef browned and seasoned with taco seasoning. The beef is cooked until no longer pink and then kept warm. The assembly involves layering the rice with the seasoned beef, diced avocado, fresh pico de gallo, shredded Mexican cheese, corn kernels, sour cream, and chopped cilantro.

The combination provides a variety of textures: tender beef with savory seasoning, creamy avocado and sour cream, crisp tomato salsa, mild melted cheese, and the sweetness from corn. The preparation relies on stovetop cooking of meat and assembling fresh ingredients for contrast.

Served in a bowl, this recipe can be adapted with variations, making it suitable for lunch or dinner. It presents a convenient and balanced meal with protein, vegetables, and grains all in one serving.

  • 1 lb ground beef 85% lean
  • 2 tbsp taco seasoning
  • 2 cups rice warm, cooked
  • 1 avocado chopped, large
  • 1 cup Pico de Gallo
  • 1 cup Mexican cheese shredded
  • 1 cup corn

Cover the pan with a lid to keep warm and set aside.
  2. To assemble the burrito bowl, place warm rice on the bottom of the bowl.
  3. Layer the rice with beef, avocado, pico de gallo, Mexican cheese, corn, sour cream, and cilantro. Serve and enjoy!
