Butter Brickle Bark

Butter Brickle Bark combines rich dark chocolate with crunchy toffee bits for a textured, sweet treat that can be easily made at home. This bark has a smooth chocolate base studded with Bits 'O Brickle toffee, offering a balance of creamy and crisp in each bite. The no-bake preparation and simple ingredients make it a convenient dessert or snack option stored best in the refrigerator.

Description

Butter Brickle Bark is crafted by melting dark chocolate chips until smooth, then spreading the chocolate evenly on a lined baking sheet. Toffee bits are sprinkled evenly on top and gently pressed to ensure they stick as the chocolate sets. After chilling in the refrigerator until firm, the bark is broken into chunks for serving. The combination of bittersweet chocolate and crunchy toffee offers a satisfying contrast in texture and flavor.

The preparation avoids complicated baking steps, relying on careful melting and setting to achieve a glossy, firm bark. This treat can be kept chilled to maintain its texture and prevent melting, making it suitable for gifting or enjoying over several days.

This recipe requires minimal ingredients and equipment, focusing on a straightforward chocolate-toffee combination. It’s a good choice for home cooks wanting a sweet, crunchy confection with a polished finish without extensive time or oven use.

Ingredients

Servings
  • 10 ounce dark chocolate chips I use Nestle Dark Chocolate Chips, bag
  • 8 ounce Bits 'O Brickle Toffee Bits you won't need the whole bag

Instructions

  1. Line a baking sheet with a silicone mat or parchment paper.
  2. Put the chocolate chips in a microwave safe bowl and heat on full power for one minute. Stir and then heat another 30 seconds. Let it sit for a minute, then stir until smooth and creamy, letting the heat of the bowl melt all the chips. If there is still some unmelted chocolate you can zap it for another 15 seconds. Tiny lumps won't affect the final bark.
  3. Pour the chocolate out onto the baking sheet and spread out to a rectangle, roughly 7 or 8 x 12. You don't have to be exact here, but I like to get it to an even thickness all around.
  4. Sprinkle the brickle bits evenly all over the surface of the chocolate. Press down very gently to make sure the bits will adhere to the chocolate as it sets up.
  5. Put the tray in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes or until hardened, then carefully chop it into chunks.
  6. I like to keep the bark refrigerated.
