Buttery Vanilla Glaze
Description
Buttery Vanilla Glaze softens confectioners' sugar with cream and melted butter to form a smooth topping highlighted by a touch of vanilla extract. The glaze is blended until lump-free and can be thinned or thickened by adding more cream or sugar for a pourable or spreadable texture. It adds a mild vanilla sweetness and buttery richness to various baked treats, enhancing them without overpowering.
This glaze is versatile, suitable for adding a finishing touch on cakes, muffins, and cinnamon buns by simply drizzling over or spreading. The presence of butter gives it a soft mouthfeel and a richer taste compared to simple sugar glazes.
Because it contains butter and cream, the glaze should be stored in a cool place or refrigerator and used within a few days to maintain freshness. Stir before use if stored. Adjust cream carefully to avoid thinning it too much.
