Caesar Dressing

This Caesar Dressing blends mayonnaise, Parmesan cheese, lemon, garlic, and anchovy paste to create a creamy, tangy condiment with a classic rich Umami flavor. It’s thick enough to cling well to greens but can be thinned with water if desired, suitable for salads or as a dip.

Description

The Caesar Dressing combines mayonnaise as the creamy base with finely grated Parmesan for sharpness, fresh lemon juice and zest for brightness, and garlic for pungency. Anchovy paste and Worcestershire sauce add depth and Umami, balanced by Dijon mustard for slight tang. Black pepper and kosher salt season the dressing.

Whisking all ingredients until combined results in a thick, smooth dressing that coats salad leaves evenly. Adjusting thickness is possible by whisking in water gradually if a looser consistency is preferred. Fresh ingredients like lemon juice and garlic ensure lively taste.

This dressing pairs traditionally with romaine lettuce and croutons for a classic Caesar salad but can also be used as a dip or spread. It stores well in the refrigerator for up to a week when kept covered, making it convenient for prep ahead.
