Cajun Chicken with Hummus

Cajun Chicken with Hummus features seasoned chicken breast strips pan-fried with Cajun spices, served alongside a fresh salad of valerian greens, cucumber, tomatoes, and radishes. A homemade hummus made from chickpeas, tahini, lemon juice, garlic, and cumin complements the dish with creamy texture and Middle Eastern flavor notes.

Description

The chicken breast is cut into strips and coated with a blend of Cajun seasoning, sweet paprika, salt, and pepper, then pan-fried in olive oil to develop a flavorful crust. The accompanying salad combines valerian leaves, diced cucumber, cherry tomatoes, and sliced radishes, dressed simply with lemon juice, olive oil, salt, and pepper for freshness and balance. The hummus is prepared by blending canned chickpeas with lemon juice, olive oil, garlic, tahini, cumin, salt, and pepper, creating a creamy accompaniment that pairs well with the spiced chicken and crisp vegetables.

This dish balances the smoky, spicy notes of the chicken with the cool, tangy salad and smooth hummus, making it suitable for a light lunch or dinner. The fresh ingredients in the salad provide texture variety, while the hummus adds rich, earthy flavors and protein.
