Cake Mix Cookie Bars
Description
Using a box of yellow cake mix paired with instant pudding mix forms a moist batter that retains tenderness in these cookie bars. The addition of vegetable oil and eggs enriches the texture, contributing to softness and slight chewiness. Chocolate chips folded in add bursts of melted chocolate, while mini M&Ms mixed in and sprinkled on top provide sweet crunch and color. Baking in a greased 9x13 pan at 350°F produces golden edges while keeping the interior soft and cake-like. Once baked and cooled, the bars can be cut into squares for easy handling. This straightforward method leverages prepared mixes to produce bars with the flavor influence of both vanilla from the pudding and the chocolate components layered throughout.
