  5. Arrange the bacon in a single layer on a wire rack, on top of a foil-lined baking sheet.

  7. Remove from the oven and let the bacon rest for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Nutritional information: the nutritional information provided is for the traditional bacon with brown sugar.
  • Air fryer method: arrange the bacon in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook the bacon in the air fryer at 400°F for 14 minutes, flipping halfway through the cooking time.
  • Candied bacon is perishable, so it should be stored in the refrigerator within 2 hours of making the recipe.
  • You can store the cooked candied bacon in the refrigerator for up to 1 week. Store it in an airtight container, such as a large zipper bag or plastic container with a lid.
  • To reheat bacon in the microwave, place the bacon on a microwave-safe plate and microwave for 30-60 seconds.
  • To reheat bacon in the oven, turn the oven broiler on to high. Place the bacon on a foil-lined baking sheet and into the oven, under the broiler, for 2 minutes.
  • To reheat bacon in the air fryer, place the strips of bacon in an even layer in the air fryer. Cook in the air fryer at 400°F for 3-4 minutes.
  • One pound of bacon equals approximately 12 slices of bacon. If you’d like to double this recipe, simply hover over the servings amount in the recipe card above and switch it from 12 slices to 24 slices. The ingredient amounts in the recipe card will automatically update.
