Candy Cane Chocolate Martini

This Candy Cane Chocolate Martini combines chocolate liqueur, crème de cacao, vanilla vodka, and crème de menthe with cream and chocolate syrup for a rich, festive cocktail. The crushed candy canes rim adds a sweet, minty crunch, complementing the creamy, chocolatey flavors. It's chilled with ice cubes and decorated with syrup drizzles for an elegant presentation, making it suitable for holiday gatherings or special occasions.

Description

The Candy Cane Chocolate Martini uses a blend of chocolate liqueur, crème de cacao, and vanilla-flavored vodka to create a deeply chocolate-flavored base. Adding crème de menthe introduces a cool peppermint note, which is enhanced by the crushed candy canes coating the glass rim. Light cream and chocolate syrup give the martini a smooth, creamy texture and a glossy finish. Mixing the ingredients with ice chills the drink while diluting slightly to balance the richness.

The preparation includes carefully crushing candy canes to coat the rim of the glass after dipping it in chocolate syrup, adding texture and a festive visual touch. Drizzling remaining chocolate syrup inside the glass before pouring the cocktail creates a decorative effect. This martini is best served immediately after preparation to enjoy the contrast between creamy liquid and crunchy candy cane.

  • 2 tbsp chocolate syrup + 4 tbsp Extra for rim of glass & decorating
  • 3 oz chocolate liqueur
  • 3 oz creme de cacao
  • 1 oz vodka vanilla flavored
  • 1/2 oz Creme de Menthe
  • 4 candy canes
  • 4-5 ice cubes

Instructions

  1. In a shaker (or stirring in a glass), add chocolate liqueur, crème de cacao, vanilla vodka, crème de menthe, and ice. Shake (or stir) a few times to mix together.
  2. Add cream and 2 tbsp chocolate syrup. Shake a few more times to combine all ingredients.
  3. Place candy canes in a plastic bag and crush (I used the bottom of the liquor bottle very carefully, and over a towel, to crush these). Spread candy cane pieces onto a plate.
  4. Pour 1 tbsp. of chocolate syrup onto a plate and dip rim of glasses into chocolate. Then dip rim of glass into candy cane pieces.
  5. Use remaining 2 tbsp chocolate syrup to drizzle decoratively into glass.
  6. Pour chocolate martini into glass and enjoy!
