Caprese Skewers Appetizer

Caprese Skewers combine cherry tomatoes, fresh basil, and mozzarella cheese on small skewers, creating a bite-sized version of the classic Italian salad. The fresh basil leaves paired with creamy mozzarella and juicy tomatoes deliver balanced flavors. Optional balsamic glaze or basil oil adds a tangy or herbal finish. These skewers are ideal as a finger food for gatherings or light starters and can be assembled ahead to simplify serving.

Description

The Caprese Skewers Appetizer brings together three core ingredients: cherry tomatoes, mozzarella cheese, and basil leaves. By threading these onto skewers, the classic Caprese salad becomes a portable, easy-to-eat snack. The mozzarella provides a smooth, mild creaminess, while the basil offers a fresh, aromatic herbal note. Juicy cherry tomatoes contribute a sweet and slightly tart contrast, complementing the cheese and herb.

Assembling these skewers involves layering a cherry tomato, a mozzarella portion, and a folded basil leaf on each skewer, creating a neat, colorful presentation. Optional additions such as balsamic glaze or basil oil can be drizzled atop to introduce acidity and herbaceous richness, enhancing the flavor complexity.

These skewers make a convenient appetizer for parties or casual meals. Their fresh ingredients and ease of preparation allow them to be made up to 12 hours in advance, refrigerated, and served cold or at room temperature. They can also be customized by adding other components like salami or grilled chicken for variation.
