Caramel Apple Dip Recipe
Description
The Caramel Apple Dip is made by melting unsalted butter in a saucepan and stirring in dark brown sugar, sweetened condensed milk, light corn syrup, water, and vanilla extract. The mixture is cooked over medium heat while stirring until the sugar dissolves and the dip thickens slightly. Once cooled, it is ready to serve as a rich and sweet accompaniment for sliced apples.
Besides apples, the dip pairs well with other dippers such as pretzels, strawberries, bananas, pound cake, or marshmallows, adding versatility. It can be made up to a week in advance and stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for convenience when entertaining or as a sweet treat at home.
Ingredients
- ½ cup butter unsalted
- 2 cups dark brown sugar packed
- 1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
- 1 cup light corn syrup
- 2 tablespoons water
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- apple for serving, sliced
Instructions
- Melt butter in a small saucepan over medium heat.
- Add all remaining ingredients and cook, stirring constantly, until sugar is dissolved, 6–7 minutes.
- Remove from the heat and let cool before serving. Serve with apples or any other desired dippers.
Notes
- This caramel dip can be prepared up to one week ahead and stored refrigerated in an airtight container.
- The traditional serving is with sliced apples, but pretzels, strawberries, bananas, pound cake, or marshmallows work well as alternatives.
