Caramel Apple Dump Cake

The Caramel Apple Dump Cake layers canned apple pie filling with cinnamon and caramel sauce in a casserole dish, topped by dry yellow cake mix and melted butter. When baked, it forms a tender, moist cake with baked fruit underneath and a caramel-cinnamon flavor balance. This dessert suits those looking for a quick, comforting sweet treat with minimal preparation.

Description

Caramel Apple Dump Cake begins with a base of sweet, canned apple pie filling placed in a greased casserole pan. Ground cinnamon is sprinkled atop the apples, followed by a drizzle of caramel ice cream topping to infuse richness and a buttery sweetness. Dry yellow cake mix is then evenly layered over the filling and topped with melted butter to create a tender crust as it bakes.

Baked at 350°F for 50 to 60 minutes, the cake develops a golden top with moist, flavorful layers beneath. The combination of sweet apples, warm cinnamon, and caramel provides a classic autumnal dessert flavor. The texture contrasts between the soft fruit and the buttery cake topping.

This cake serves well warm, and leftovers can be refrigerated for up to 3 to 5 days; reheating in a microwave or oven restores its softness. Variations can include different pie fillings or substituting cake mix types, though cinnamon may be omitted if using spice cake mix. It can also be made in a crock pot with appropriate precautions to reduce moisture condensation.
