Caramel Apple Dump Cake

Caramel Apple Dump Cake layers canned apple pie filling spiced with cinnamon and nutmeg, topped with halved caramels, yellow cake mix, and pats of butter, then baked until golden and bubbly. This no-fuss dessert combines fruit, warm spices, and caramel sweetness with a crisp cake topping for a comforting finish.

Description

The Caramel Apple Dump Cake recipe begins by mixing apple pie filling with cinnamon and nutmeg to enhance the spiced apple flavor. The mixture is poured into a greased casserole dish, forming the base layer. Halved caramels are scattered on top to melt and add a rich caramel dimension as the cake bakes.

A dry yellow cake mix covers the caramel layer, creating a crumbly topping once baked. Thin pats of butter dot the surface, helping to brown and crisp the cake topping. Baking at 350°F for 45 minutes yields a golden crust with bubbling edges where the fruit filling is hot and bubbly.

Once slightly cooled, the dessert develops a balance between soft, sweet apple filling, melted caramel pockets, and a tender yet crisp cake exterior. This dump cake requires minimal preparation and provides a cozy flavored dessert that can be served warm for best texture and flavor.
