Caramel Apple Slices Bar

The Caramel Apple Slices Bar is a build-your-own treat consisting of fresh apple slices dipped in caramel sauce and then coated with various toppings such as marshmallows, nuts, or candies. This setup allows for customization and a combination of crisp fruit texture with sweet, sticky caramel and a variety of crunchy or chewy toppings, making for a fun and interactive dessert or snack.

Description

This recipe involves cutting apples—varieties like Granny Smith, Fuji, or Honeycrisp recommended—into slices suitable for dipping. To prevent browning, the slices can be soaked in a saltwater bath for 10 minutes before rinsing if desired. Each slice is skewered to make dipping easier.

The caramel sauce serves as a sticky base to adhere toppings, which can include marshmallows, M&Ms, shredded coconut, almond slivers, peanuts, or other favorites. By placing toppings into muffin tins or small bowls, it allows for easy dipping and coating. The final result offers a blend of crisp apple, rich caramel, and varied topping textures and flavors.

This preparation is ideal for parties or gatherings where guests can customize their caramel apple slices, or for a simple homemade dessert or snack. It provides sweetness and crunch with fresh fruit, and the ability to personalize toppings makes it adaptable to various tastes.
