Caramel Marshmallow Popcorn
Description
Caramel Marshmallow Popcorn melds microwave-or stovetop-popped corn with a homemade caramel sauce enriched by giant marshmallows. The preparation starts with carefully ensuring no unpopped kernels appear, protecting the popcorn's pleasant crunch. Butter is melted gently with brown sugar, corn syrup, and vanilla to form the caramel base. Adding whole giant marshmallows melted into this sauce offers a stretchy, sweet texture that sticks to the popcorn effectively.
The mixture is thoroughly combined with the popcorn to evenly coat each piece, followed by spreading it out on parchment paper to cool and set. This process yields a snack that balances buttery caramel richness with gooey marshmallow sweetness and popcorn crunch, making for an enjoyable combination of textures and flavors.
The recipe is simple but requires attention to stirring the caramel and marshmallows to achieve a smooth consistency. It can be prepared using pre-popped microwave popcorn or homemade popped corn for variation in freshness and flavor.
