Carne Asada Street Tacos

Carne Asada Street Tacos feature marinated flank steak grilled to medium-rare, sliced thin, and served on corn tortillas with mashed avocado, cotija cheese, diced onions, and fresh cilantro. The marinade combines soy sauce, citrus juices, and herbs, yielding flavorful, tender meat. Lime wedges add brightness, making these tacos a flavorful and filling Mexican street-style snack or meal.

Description

The Carne Asada Street Tacos recipe includes marinating flank or skirt steak in a mixture of soy sauce, orange slices, lime juice, green onions, and cilantro to infuse citrus-herb flavor and tenderize. The steak is grilled or pan-seared until medium-rare, then rested and sliced thinly across the grain into bite-sized strips.

To assemble, corn tortillas are topped with mashed avocado followed by the sliced carne asada. Finely diced onions, fresh cilantro, and crumbled cotija cheese are sprinkled over the meat. A squeeze of fresh lime juice adds acidity and freshness. The combination results in juicy, flavorful tacos with creamy and zesty toppings balanced by savory grilled beef.

These tacos can be paired with salsa or additional garnishes and work well as a casual meal or appetizer. The marinating step enhances tenderness and depth of flavor in the steak.
