Chai Spice Apple Crisp
Description
Chai Spice Apple Crisp features sliced apples tossed in lemon juice and coated with a mixture of flour, sugar, and chai spices including cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, cloves, allspice, cardamom, and a hint of black pepper. The filling is arranged in a baking dish, then covered with a crumbly topping made from oats, sugars, spices, flour, and cubes of butter blended to a coarse texture.
As it bakes at 375°F, the topping becomes golden and the apples soften and bubble, melding tartness with the warm spiced notes. The oatmeal topping adds a satisfying crunch to each bite, while the complex chai spice mix infuses the dish with depth and warmth.
This apple crisp is enjoyable served warm, especially with a scoop of ice cream to soften the spices and sweeten the tart apple filling. It makes a thoughtful dessert showcasing chai flavors combined with a traditional apple crisp structure.
