Chamomile Tequila Sour

The Chamomile Tequila Sour blends lime juice, tequila, and a chamomile-infused simple syrup to create a floral, tangy cocktail. The chamomile syrup, made by steeping chamomile tea bags in a mix of sugar, natural sweetener, and water, adds a gentle herbal sweetness that balances the tart lime and the warmth of tequila. This drink is served chilled with a lime wedge garnish.

Description

This cocktail features a homemade chamomile simple syrup prepared by dissolving sugar and a natural no-calorie sweetener in water, then steeping chamomile tea bags for 30 minutes. The syrup is combined with fresh lime juice and tequila, shaken with ice, then poured into a glass garnished with lime.

The drink has a bright lime tartness mellowed by the delicate floral notes from chamomile, and the tequila adds depth and character. The balance of flavors results in a refreshing yet nuanced sour cocktail. Serving the drink well chilled enhances the crisp texture.

The batch of chamomile simple syrup yields enough for about six cocktails, making it suitable for multiple servings or gatherings. The natural sweetener in the syrup reduces overall sugar content without sacrificing sweetness.
