Cheesy Baked Spicy Italian Dip

This Cheesy Baked Spicy Italian Dip combines softened cream cheese with mozzarella, Parmesan, Calabrian chili peppers, salami, and garlic powder. Baked until bubbly and golden, it offers a creamy texture with a spicy, savory flavor accentuated by the cured meat and hot peppers, making it a rich and satisfying appetizer or snack.

Description

Cheesy Baked Spicy Italian Dip blends cream cheese softened to smoothness with shredded mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses. Crushed Calabrian hot chili peppers provide a sharp, spicy kick, balanced by the savory, meaty flavor of chopped salami. Garlic powder and optional black pepper add depth to the mixture.

The mixture is baked in an oven-safe dish at 350°F for 20 minutes until bubbly, with an optional broil step at the end to create a golden, slightly crispy top layer. The result is a warm, creamy dip with slightly melted cheese textures and spicy undertones.

It pairs well with crackers, bread slices, or vegetable sticks for spreading, making it suitable as a party starter or a cozy snack. The recipe requires minimal preparation and showcases the blend of creamy cheese with spicy Italian flavors.

Ingredients

Servings
  • 8 oz cream cheese softened
  • 1 1/4 cups mozzarella cheese divided, shredded
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan Cheese shredded
  • 2-3 tbsp crushed Calabrian hot chili peppers use 2 tbsp for less spicy, brand: Tutto Calabria
  • 1/3 cup salami chopped
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
  • black pepper optional

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°. Combine the cream cheese with 3/4 cup of the mozzarella (save the other 1/2 cup for the top), all of the parmesan, crushed Calabrian chili peppers, salami, garlic powder, and pepper. I like to use a fork and make sure everything is mashed together well and fully incorporated.
  2. Add the mixture to an oven-safe dish and bake for 20 minutes or until bubbly and golden on top. Optional, but I like to then put it under the broiler for a minute or two to get extra golden. Enjoy!
