Cheesy Garlic Crescent Rolls
Description
This recipe involves unrolling refrigerated crescent roll dough and separating it into triangles. Each piece is brushed with a mixture of melted butter combined with grated garlic and dried Italian herbs (parsley, basil, Italian seasoning). Halved mozzarella stick pieces are placed at the wide end, then rolled up tightly sealing the cheese inside.
Baking at 375°F for about 10–12 minutes produces rolls that are golden brown on top with a soft, slightly flaky dough surrounding melted mozzarella cheese. The garlic butter brushed on top before baking enriches the dough’s flavor and aroma.
The rolls can be served warm as finger food, snacks, or alongside soups or salads. Their melty centers and seasoned dough make them satisfying on their own or accompanying other dishes.
Ingredients
- 2 - 8 oz crescent rolls refrigerated, canned
- 8 pieces mozzarella string cheese halved across to make 2 short sticks
- 6 Tbsp butter melted, salted
- 4-5 cloves garlic grated or finely minced
- 1 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1 tsp parsley dried
- 1/2 tsp basil dried
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
- In a small bowl, combine melted butter with Italian seasoning, garlic, parsley and basil.
- Unroll crescent rolls and separate into triangles. Brush with garlic butter mixture, reserving some to brush on tops of assembled rolls. Place halved string cheese at widest end, and roll up (tucking in the edges to seal).
- Brush tops with more garlic butter. Bake for 10-12 minutes, until lightly golden brown.
