Cheesy Gnocchi Cream Sauce with Bacon Recipe
Description
Cheesy Gnocchi Cream Sauce with Bacon Recipe starts by frying small pieces of bacon until crisp in neutral cooking oil. Cream, salt, and ground black pepper are then added to the pan, creating a decadent base. Grated cheddar and Parmigiano Reggiano cheeses are mixed in, contributing sharpness and depth to the sauce. A splash of water helps achieve the ideal silky texture as the sauce simmers and thickens for a few minutes. Finally, cooked gnocchi is folded into the sauce, coating each piece with the creamy mixture.
This sauce balances the smoky, crispy bacon with the smooth, cheesy cream, working well with gnocchi’s pillowy texture. Parmesan is essential for its distinctive flavor, and substituting cheddar with Gruyere or Raclette can provide milder variations. Using good-quality cheese and bacon or Speck enhances overall richness and taste.
The sauce comes together quickly and can be served hot immediately. Adjusting the bacon preparation method slightly, like adding speck at the end without cooking, offers variations depending on regional preferences. This recipe suits an indulgent meal that pairs well with gnocchi’s tender bite.
