Cheesy Ham Broccoli Casserole

Cheesy Ham Broccoli Casserole combines tender cooked broccoli with diced ham and melted cheddar cheese, all bound together by an egg and milk mixture that sets during baking. This casserole has a savory, creamy texture with a mild salted flavor from the ham and cheese. Baked until set and golden, it offers a hearty side or main dish that pairs well with simple proteins or stands alone for a filling meal.

Description

Cheesy Ham Broccoli Casserole starts by boiling fresh or frozen broccoli florets until slightly tender and well drained. The broccoli is placed in a buttered oven-safe dish along with cubed ham and grated cheddar cheese. A mixture of beaten eggs, milk, salt, and pepper is poured over the ingredients before baking at 180°C (350°F) for 30 to 40 minutes.

During baking, the egg custard cooks through, firming up and melding the flavors while melting the cheddar into a creamy, cheesy topping that holds the casserole together. The ham adds a salty depth and texture contrast to the soft broccoli, making this dish hearty enough for a main course or suitable as a side.

This casserole is practical for using leftover ham and can be made with fresh or frozen broccoli, making it versatile and convenient for various meal plans.
