Cherry Cheesecake Swirl Brownies
Description
This recipe blends melted unsalted butter, cocoa powder, and sugar to form a chocolate batter enriched with an egg and vanilla extract, then mixed with flour, salt, dark chocolate chips, and fresh chopped cherries for bursts of fruity flavor. The batter is spread into a greased pan to form the brownie layer.
The cherry cheesecake swirl is prepared separately by beating softened cream cheese with sugar, an egg yolk, vanilla extract, and more chopped cherries until smooth. Spoonfuls of this mixture are dropped over the brownie batter, then swirled through with a knife to create the characteristic marbling.
Baked for 35 to 45 minutes, the brownies set to a fudgy texture with golden-tinted cheesecake areas. Cooling completely before slicing allows clean cuts and balanced flavors between the rich chocolate, tender cherry bits, and creamy cheesecake.
