Cherry Crumble Recipe
Description
This Cherry Crumble Recipe uses a simple mixture of softened butter, brown sugar, all-purpose flour, and quick oats to create a two-part topping. Half of the oat mixture is pressed firmly into the bottom of a sprayed pie plate to form a crust, while canned cherry pie filling is spread over it. The remaining topping is sprinkled over the cherries to form a crumble.
Baking at 350°F for about 30 minutes browns the topping and heats the cherry filling until bubbling. The butter and sugars meld with the oats and flour to produce a crisp yet tender texture contrasting with the smooth fruit inside.
After cooling for 10-15 minutes, this dessert is best served slightly warm. Adding whipped cream or ice cream enhances its richness and balances the sweetness with creaminess.
