Cherry Pineapple Dump Cake

A simple dump cake featuring cherry pie filling and crushed pineapple layered under a yellow cake mix topped with melted butter and pecans. Baking combines sweet fruit with a crumbly, crisp cake topping studded with nuts for texture contrast. This straightforward dessert works well for casual gatherings or sweet finishes served with cream or ice cream.

Description

The Cherry Pineapple Dump Cake starts by placing cherry pie filling as the base in a greased 9x13-inch pan, topped with crushed pineapple including juice for moistness. A boxed yellow cake mix is sprinkled atop this fruit layer without mixing. Melted butter is drizzled over the cake mix to help create a golden crust during baking.

Covering the cake mix with pecans adds crunch and a nutty flavor complementing the sweet and tart fruit below. Baking at a moderate temperature allows the layers to meld, forming a soft fruit filling beneath a buttery, textured crumb topping.

This recipe can be served warm, ideally with accompaniments like whipped cream or ice cream to enhance the dessert’s richness and refresh the palate.
