Chessmen Banana Pudding
Description
This dessert is constructed by first preparing vanilla pudding with milk and instant pudding mix until smooth. Separately, softened cream cheese is blended with sweetened condensed milk and folded together with whipped topping to create a rich, creamy filling.
A 9x13 pan is lined with a layer of Chessmen cookies, on which sliced bananas are arranged. The pudding mixture is poured over the bananas, followed by another layer of cookies. The dessert is then chilled, allowing the layers to meld and the cookies to soften into the creamy pudding mixture.
The resulting texture is smooth and creamy with soft pieces of cookie and ripe banana adding contrast. This treat is ideal refrigerated and served chilled as a cool, sweet dish.
Ingredients
- 3 bags COOKIE You really only need two bags, but a lot of times there are broken cookies in each bag, Pepperidge Farms Chessmen brand
- 6 banana sliced
- 2 cups milk
- 5 ounces Instant pudding vanilla
- 8 ounces cream cheese softened
- 14 ounces sweetened condensed milk
- 12 ounces whipped topping thawed
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine milk and pudding mix. Stir until smooth. Set aside.
- In a separate bowl, combine cream cheese and sweetened condensed milk. Stir until smooth. For best results, use an electric mixer. Fold in whipped topping.
- Add the two mixtures together and stir until well combined.
- Line the bottom of a 9x13 pan with one layer of Chessmen cookies.
- Place sliced bananas on top of the cookie layer.
- Pour the pudding mixture over the banana layer.
- Top with another layer of Chessmen cookies.
- Refrigerate until ready to serve.
