Chewy, Decadent Buttery Blondies

Chewy, Decadent Buttery Blondies feature a rich batter combining flour, baking powder, butter, and brown sugar with chocolate chips to create a dense, tender bar. The butter and brown sugar mixture is creamed to a light texture before eggs and dry ingredients are incorporated. The blondies bake until golden, then are topped with fudge melts for extra chocolate richness. These bars offer a chewy crumb and buttery flavor that balances sweetness without heaviness.

Description

This recipe begins by sifting flour, baking powder, and a portion of chocolate chips together to prevent clumps and distribute leavening evenly. The creaming of salted butter and packed light brown sugar lightens the base and incorporates air for a tender texture. Eggs are added one at a time to create an emulsified batter before folding in the dry ingredients at low speed to avoid overmixing.

The batter is formed by hand and patted into a buttered 9-inch square pan, then baked initially for 10 minutes. After this, a topping of fudge melts or additional chocolate pieces is added, and baking continues until the blondies turn a golden color and a skewer inserted comes out nearly clean, ensuring a moist but set interior. The final result is a chewy dessert with a rich buttery flavor complemented by slight chocolate pockets.
