Chick Fil A Nuggets

Chick Fil A Nuggets are bite-sized, breaded chicken pieces marinated in milk and pickle juice, then coated in a seasoned flour mixture and fried to a golden crisp. The marinade tenderizes the chicken while adding subtle tang, and a honey mustard sauce made of mayonnaise, yellow mustard, honey, and lemon juice accompanies the nuggets for dipping.

Description

This recipe begins by marinating cubed boneless, skinless chicken breast in milk and dill pickle juice for between 20 minutes to overnight, which helps tenderize and lightly flavor the meat. After marination, the chicken is mixed with egg and then coated thoroughly in a seasoned flour mixture containing all-purpose flour, powdered sugar, paprika, salt, and black pepper. The coating provides a balance of sweetness, spice, and crisp texture upon frying.

The nuggets are fried in peanut or canola oil over medium-high heat until evenly golden, approximately 3-5 minutes per batch, and drained on paper towels to remove excess oil. The batter creates a crisp exterior that contrasts with tender chicken inside. For dipping, a simple honey mustard sauce is whisked together with mayonnaise, yellow mustard, honey, and lemon juice then chilled for serving, complementing the savory nuggets with sweet and tangy notes.

These nuggets can be served freshly cooked for best texture and flavor and pair well with a variety of sides. The recipe highlights the marinating step using pickle juice for authentic flavor and texture, replicating the classic fast-food style chicken nuggets.
