  • 2 tablespoons garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

For the Chicken Bulgogi

  • 1 tablespoon neutral cooking oil generic cooking oil
  • 1 pound chicken thigh boneless, skinless

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine the soy sauce, mirin, brown sugar, minced garlic, sesame oil, and onion powder. Add the chicken thighs to the marinade.
  2. Toss to combine. Set aside to marinate for a minimum of 30 minutes in the fridge.
  3. In a large cast iron pan over medium-high heat, heat up the cooking oil and once hot, add the chicken thighs into the pan, smooth-side down.
  4. Cook for 4 to 5 minutes and then flip the chicken thighs and cook for another 4 to 5 minutes. If you’d like for the chicken to be more charred, you can flip it one more time and sear it for another minute.
  5. When done, transfer the chicken thighs to a plate to let them rest for 5 to 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
