Chicken Cobbler
Description
Chicken Cobbler is assembled by layering shredded cooked chicken and frozen mixed vegetables over melted butter in a casserole dish. Over this, a biscuit dough made from cheddar bay biscuit mix and milk is poured without mixing, topped by a blend of cream of chicken soup and chicken broth. The layers remain distinct during baking, creating a filling with chicken and vegetables beneath a biscuit crust.
Baking at 400°F for 40-50 minutes produces a bubbling casserole with a browned, golden biscuit topping. The result is a comforting dish with a moist, savory interior and a topping that provides tender, flaky texture.
This dish works as a complete meal suitable for family dinners. The biscuit mix imparts cheesy flavor and the cream soup adds richness, pairing well with the chicken and vegetables.
