Chicken Curry

This Chicken Curry recipe uses a combination of olive oil, chicken, onions, tomatoes, garlic and ginger paste, and an array of spices including turmeric, chili powder, and garam masala. The dish simmers in a tomato-based sauce and is thickened to a rich consistency, balancing savory and spicy flavors for a hearty main course.

Description

The curry starts by sautéing chopped onions and diced tomatoes in olive oil until softened. Garlic paste, ginger paste, chopped green chilies, and spices such as turmeric, chili powder, and garam masala are cooked together to release their flavors. Chicken pieces are then coated with this spice mixture, cooking briefly before water is added to create a simmering sauce. The curry simmers until thickened, with a visible thin oil layer on top indicating readiness.

The preparation results in tender chicken surrounded by a fragrant spiced tomato sauce, offering a balanced heat and depth of flavor suited for serving with breads like chapati or garlic naan.
