Description
This Chicken Divan recipe uses cooked cubed chicken and lightly cooked broccoli mixed with a sauce of condensed cream of chicken soup, sour cream, milk, and shredded cheddar cheese. Seasoned with salt and pepper, the mixture is placed in a casserole dish and topped with additional cheese and a breadcrumb and butter mixture for texture.

Ingredients
- 1 pound broccoli chopped
- 2 cups chicken cooked, cubed
- 10.75 ounce cream of chicken soup 1 can, condensed
- ½ cup sour cream
- 1 ½ cups cheddar cheese shredded
- ⅓ cup milk
- ¼ teaspoon salt or to taste
- ½ teaspoon black pepper or to taste
Topping
- ¼ cup breadcrumbs I used Panko
- 1 tablespoon butter
Instructions
- Prep: Preheat oven to 450℉. Place broccoli in a large pot boiling water and cook 3 to 5 minutes or just until tender crisp. Drain well.
- Mix: In a large bowl combine the cooked chicken, chicken soup, sour cream, 1 cup of the cheese, milk, salt and pepper. Stir in the broccoli.
- Dump: Transfer to a 9x13-inch casserole dish. Top with remaining cheese.
- Top: In a small bowl toss the breadcrumbs together with the butter. Sprinkle the breadcrumbs over the casserole.
- Bake: Place the casserole dish in the oven and bake for 20 minutes or until bubbly.
Notes
- Store leftovers tightly covered in the refrigerator for 3 to 5 days.
- Reheat in the microwave or cover with foil and warm in a 400°F oven for 8-10 minutes until heated through.
