Chicken Lettuce Wraps

Chicken Lettuce Wraps - quick, easy and the best lettuce wraps recipe with juicy and moist ground chicken wrapped up with fresh and crisp lettuce leaves. Homemade is always better than P. F. Chang's or Chinese takeout.

Ingredients

Servings
  • 1 lb (500g) chicken breast ground
  • 2- inch (2.5cm) carrot peeled, diced into tiny squares
  • 3 cloves garlic chopped finely
  • 2 tablespoons neutral cooking oil generic cooking oil

Marinade:

  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon dark soy sauce for coloring purpose
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt or to taste
  • 1 tablespoon Shaoxing rice wine or dry sherry, optional, Chinese
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 1 talk scallion finely chopped
  • 3 dashes ground white pepper
  • 1 iceberg lettuce or butter lettuce, fresh and cold

Hoisin Dipping Sauce:

  • 3 tablespoons hoisin sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon sriracha chili sauce
  • 1 tablespoon water warm

Sweet Chili Sauce:

  • 4 tablespoons sweet chili sauce Mae Ploy
  • ome cilantro chopped, leaves
  • 1/2 tablespoon lime juice

Instructions

  1. Mix the ground chicken meat and carrots with all the Marinade ingredients. Set aside for 15 minutes.
  2. Mix the dipping sauces and set aside. Heat a wok or pan and add the cooking oil. Sauté the garlic until light brown, then add the chicken.
  3. Stir-fry the ground chicken, breaking up any lumps to form small pieces. Continue to stir-fry until the chicken is fully cooked. Dish out and set aside.
  4. Carefully peel off the lettuce leaves from the iceberg lettuce head, taking care not to break them. Scoop a generous spoonful of chicken and place it in the center of a lettuce leaf.
  5. Wrap it up and dip it into the hoisin-ponzu sauce or sweet chili sauce before eating. Alternatively, you can drizzle the sauce on top of the chicken before wrapping.
