Chicken Lo Mein (Crazy Easy)
Description
The recipe begins by mixing a simple sauce from chicken broth, soy sauce, brown sugar, and sesame oil. Vegetables including carrots, broccoli, and onion are sliced into manageable pieces while chicken is cut into strips. The chicken is sautéed in a wok until golden, then removed. Onions are cooked next, followed by carrots and broccoli, which are cooked until tender. Garlic is added to develop flavor before the chicken and onions are returned to the pan.
The sauce is poured over the combined ingredients and simmered briefly to meld flavors. Finally, cooked noodles are tossed in to coat evenly, resulting in a balanced stir-fry with tender chicken, crisp-tender vegetables, and soft noodles. The method emphasizes layering flavors and textures through sequential cooking steps.
This dish works well as a standalone meal, offering protein, vegetables, and carbohydrates in one pan. It is suitable for a casual dinner and can be customized with extra vegetables or different proteins.
