Chicken Parmesan Pasta
Description
The recipe begins by boiling small or medium pasta shapes like penne or ziti until al dente. Meanwhile, onions and garlic are sautéed in olive oil until softened, then ground chicken is cooked thoroughly in the same pan. The cooked pasta is combined with the meat mixture, marinara sauce, red pepper flakes, and grated Parmesan cheese to create a flavorful base.
Moisture and mild heat from the red pepper flakes provide subtle spice, while the Parmesan adds nutty, salty notes. The mixture is transferred to an oven-safe dish or skillet and topped with shredded mozzarella cheese, then baked at 400°F to melt the cheese and lightly brown the surface.
This pasta dish can be garnished with fresh basil for herbal brightness. It works well as a filling main course, combining protein, sauce, and pasta in one dish. If preferred, the skillet can be covered and heated without baking, although the cheese won't brown as well.
Ingredients
- 12 ounces pasta small or medium (ziti, penne, etc
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/2 /2 cup onion white, diced
- 4 garlic cloves
- 1 lb ground chicken (you can also you diced boneless skinless chicken breasts)

- 1/4 /4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1/2 /2 cup Parmesan Cheese grated
- 1 1/2 /2 cups mozzarella cheese shredded
- (optional) basil for topping
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Cook pasta according to package directions.
- While pasta is cooking, add the olive olive to a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the onions and garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes. Add the chicken and cook until done.
- Stir in the cooked pasta, marinara sauce, red pepper flakes, and Parmesan. Season with salt and pepper.
