Chicken Souvlaki
Description
This Chicken Souvlaki recipe involves cutting skinless, boneless chicken breast into cubes that soak up a marinade of olive oil, Greek yogurt, lemon juice, garlic, black pepper, and salt for 30 minutes. The yogurt and lemon juice tenderize and flavor the meat. After soaking soaked bamboo skewers, the chicken cubes are threaded onto the skewers, four pieces each, maintaining even cooking.
The skewers are grilled on an indoor or outdoor grill, brushed with olive oil to keep the chicken moist and promote browning. The result is tender, flavorful chicken with a hint of char. Serving them hot with ranch dressing provides a cool, creamy dipping sauce balancing the savory grilled meat.
This dish works well as a main course for casual meals or as finger food for gatherings. The marinated grilled chicken pairs nicely with salads, pita bread, or vegetables.
Soak bamboo skewers in cold water for at least one hour to prevent burning during grilling.Evenly cut chicken into similar-sized cubes for uniform cooking.Serve immediately after grilling to enjoy the meat’s maximum juiciness and flavor.
