Chicken Teriyaki

Delicious, homemade Chicken Teriyaki is a quick and easy dinner recipe.

Ingredients

  • 1 Tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 pound chicken cut into 1 inch cubes
  • 2 Tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • ¼ cup soy sauce low sodium
  • 1 Tablespoon sesame seeds
  • cup brown sugar packed
  • 3 garlic minced cloves
  • 1 Tablespoon cornstarch
  • rice prepared, to serve

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a 12-inch non-stick skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add in chicken and let brown on bottom for about 3 - 4 minutes then flip and continue to cook until internal temp is 160 degrees, about 3 minutes longer.
  3. While chicken is cooking, in a small mixing bowl whisk together soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, garlic and cornstarch.
  4. Once chicken is cooked Stir the sauce in with the chicken and continue to cook and toss until sauce has thickened, about 30 - 60 seconds longer.
  5. Remove from heat and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
  6. Serve over rice.

Notes

  • FRIDGE: Transfer leftover chicken teriyaki to an airtight container. Once it has cooled completely, store in the fridge for up to 5 days.
  • FREEZER: To freeze leftovers, place them into an airtight container or freezer bag and freeze for 2-3 months. Allow to thaw before reheating.
