Chili Lime Salmon
Description
The Chili Lime Salmon recipe centers on a fillet marinated in a blend of chili garlic sauce, lime juice, honey, and fresh minced garlic. The marinade combines heat, citrus acidity, and sweetness to create a distinctive glaze. Wrapping the seasoned salmon in foil prevents moisture loss during baking at 400°F, resulting in tender, flaky fish without drying out. Fresh cilantro added before sealing enhances aroma and brightness.
The finishing dish offers a moist texture with a tangy and mildly spicy flavor profile that complements the natural richness of salmon. The method requires minimal preparation and no pan-frying or broiling, reducing cleanup and maintaining clean flavors.
This salmon pairs well with simple sides like steamed vegetables or rice, which absorb the flavorful juices left in the foil. The recipe's versatility makes it practical for a balanced, protein-rich meal with a touch of Latin-inspired zest.
Adjust seasoning to taste, particularly the balance of lime and honey, to suit personal preferences. Using your preferred brand of chili garlic sauce can slightly alter the heat and flavor intensity. Serving immediately helps retain the salmon’s tender texture.
Ingredients
- 1 lb (500g) salmon fillet
- 3 cloves garlic minced
- 1 1/2 tablespoons Chili garlic sauce Huy Fong Rooster brand
- 1 1/2 tablespoons lime juice
- 1 1/2 tablespoons honey
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 tablespoon cilantro chopped
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (207°C). In a small bowl, mix together the garlic, Chili Garlic Sauce, lime juice, honey, and salt. Stir to combine well.
- Lay out two large sheets of aluminum foil, ensuring they are big enough to cover and wrap the salmon. Place the salmon on top of the foil. Add the Chili-Lime mixture to the salmon, spooning it over to cover the entire piece. Top with cilantro. Wrap up the foil sheets, making sure there is no leakage.
- Bake in the oven for 15 minutes, or until the salmon is just cooked through. Serve immediately.
Notes
- You can swap in any chili garlic sauce you prefer; adjust lime juice and honey for sweeter or tangier notes to suit your taste.
