Chinese Stir-Fry Sauce

Chinese Stir-Fry Sauce is a balanced blend of chicken stock, Shaoxing wine, brown sugar, sesame oil, soy sauces, oyster sauce, white pepper, and salt. It is designed to add rich umami and a subtle sweetness to stir-fried dishes, enhancing the savory flavors of meat and vegetables. Ready to use and store, this sauce simplifies making flavorful Chinese-style stir-fries at home.

Description

This Chinese Stir-Fry Sauce combines chicken stock with Shaoxing wine, brown sugar, sesame oil, regular and dark soy sauces, oyster sauce, white pepper, and salt to create a savory, slightly sweet sauce that enhances stir-fried dishes. The mixture is prepared by shaking the ingredients together and can be stored refrigerated for several weeks, making it convenient for multiple stir-fry meals. The sauce provides a complex umami character from the soy and oyster sauces and a touch of sweetness from brown sugar, balanced with the aroma of sesame oil and a mild heat from white pepper. It is intended to be measured and added during cooking to coat ingredients and build flavor without overpowering the dish. This sauce supports a range of stir-fried vegetables, meats, or tofu.
