Chive and Parsley Pesto

This Chive and Parsley Pesto combines fresh parsley, chives, garlic, toasted walnuts, Parmesan cheese, and lemon juice blended with olive oil to form a vibrant green sauce. Tossed with al dente spaghetti, it creates a bright, herbaceous pasta dish with a nutty depth and subtle garlic freshness. The pesto’s loose sauce consistency coats the pasta for an easy, flavorful meal.

Description

Chive and Parsley Pesto uses fresh herbs—parsley and chives—paired with garlic and walnuts toasted to enhance their flavor. The mixture is blended with grated Parmesan cheese and lemon juice for acidity, and olive oil to achieve a smooth, sauce-like texture. The pesto offers a fresh, green flavor accented by mild onion notes from chives and earthy walnuts.

The accompanying spaghetti is cooked just to al dente so it retains bite when mixed with the pesto, ensuring a pleasant textural contrast. Tossing the freshly cooked pasta immediately with the pesto allows the flavors to meld and coat each strand evenly.

This pasta with pesto can be served directly after tossing, providing a simple but flavorful meal option that highlights fresh herbs. Adjusting ingredient proportions can tailor its intensity and richness as preferred.
