Chocolate Banana Ice Cream
Description
This Chocolate Banana Ice Cream starts with ripe bananas sliced and frozen until firm. Blending the frozen banana pieces in a food processor creates a thick, creamy base resembling soft serve ice cream but without dairy or added fats. Cocoa powder incorporated during blending introduces a rich chocolate taste balanced by the natural sweetness and creaminess of banana.
Maple syrup adds an additional layer of sweetness and a hint of complexity. The mixture can be served immediately as a soft ice cream or further frozen to harden slightly for a scoopable texture. Topping with vegan chocolate chips provides a contrasting crunch and reinforces the chocolate theme.
Because it's made solely from fruit and natural sweeteners without heavy cream or sugar beyond the maple syrup, this ice cream offers a fresh, straightforward dessert option. It is easy to prepare with minimal ingredients and suitable for a vegan diet.
