Chocolate Chip Condensed Milk Cookies

These Chocolate Chip Condensed Milk Cookies combine softened butter, sugar, and sweetened condensed milk to create a tender dough studded with semi-sweet chocolate chips. The cookies are lightly pressed before baking to ensure even cooking and a uniform shape. They bake until just golden at the edges, offering a soft yet slightly crisp texture that balances sweetness and richness.

Description

Chocolate Chip Condensed Milk Cookies use a blend of butter, sugar, and sweetened condensed milk, which adds moisture and sweetness to the dough. Vanilla extract enhances the flavor, while a mixture of all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt provides structure. Semi-sweet chocolate chips are folded into the dough to create pockets of melted chocolate after baking. The dough is rolled into small balls and gently flattened to promote even baking and consistent cookie thickness.

Baked at 350°F (180°C) for 8-10 minutes, the cookies develop a slight golden edge with a soft center. Cooling them on the baking sheets briefly before transferring to a wire rack helps them set and retain their shape. This method results in cookies that have a light crumb and pleasant chew.

These cookies can be enjoyed as a sweet snack or dessert, pairing well with milk or tea. Their texture and chocolate chips make them a comforting treat that is easy to prepare from common pantry ingredients.

Careful attention to butter temperature and mixing time helps achieve an evenly combined dough without toughness. Slightly flattening the dough balls before baking promotes a uniform bake. Watch the cookies closely during baking to avoid overbaking, ensuring a tender texture.

  • ¼ cup sugar 50g
  • ¼ cup sweetened condensed milk 100g
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour plain flour (180g
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¾ cup chocolate chips semi-sweet

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F/180°C. Line cookie sheets with baking parchment paper.
  2. Add the butter and sugar to a mixing bowl and cream together by beating with an electric mixer or stand mixer until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the condensed milk and vanilla and beat again.
  4. In a separate bowl, sift the flour, baking powder and salt together. Then stir it into the butter mixture, a little at a time.
  5. Stir in the chocolate chips.
  6. Roll teaspoon-sized balls of the condensed milk cookie dough and place them onto the prepared cookie sheets. Press each one down slightly with a fork or the heel of your hand.
  7. Place the cookie sheets in the oven and bake the cookies for 8-10 minutes or until they just begin to turn slightly golden, but don’t overbake them.
  8. Allow the cookies to cool on the trays for 5 minutes, then gently transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • Use room temperature butter to help ingredients mix evenly and create uniform dough texture.
  • Mix the dough only until ingredients are combined to keep cookies tender and avoid toughness.
  • A cookie scoop helps ensure all cookies are the same size for even baking.
  • Flatten dough balls slightly before baking to help them bake evenly and achieve consistent shape.
  • Keep a close eye during baking; cookies are done when edges turn golden and centers are set to avoid overbaking.
