Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Truffles

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Hearts are an adorable truffle-style candy for your Valentine's Day celebrations. This eggless cookie dough dipped in Ghirardelli chocolate and covered with sprinkles will make your Valentine smile.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup flour plus 2 more tablespoons
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/4 cup butter softened, unsalted, sweet cream
  • 6 tablespoons sugar
  • 6 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 tablespoons water cold
  • 1 1/2 cups mini chocolate chips
  • 8 ounces chocolate wafers Ghirardelli melting
  • 1 Sprinkles Valentine's Day themed; container

Instructions

  1. Using a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, salt, sugar, brown sugar, butter and vanilla and mix until combined.
  2. If the dough is crumbly, mix in the water.
  3. Mix in the chocolate chips.
  4. Place a piece of parchment paper onto a small cookie sheet.
  5. Place dough onto the cookie sheet and flatten the dough into 1/2 inch thick.
  6. Place the cookie sheet into the fridge for 20 minutes.
  7. Once timer is up, using the cookie cutter, cut out your hearts.
  8. Place onto a plate and back into the fridge for another 10 minutes.
  9. Using a microwave safe bowl, melt the Ghirardelli melting chocolate in intervals of 30 seconds until melted.
  10. Once melted, using a fork, dip a heart into the chocolate and carefully tap the side of the bowl to get rid of excess chocolate.
  11. Place onto another cookie sheet lined with parchment paper.
  12. Sprinkle with the v-day sprinkles.
  13. Repeat steps until all dough is used.
  14. Allow chocolate to harden for 30 minutes before enjoying.
