Chocolate Chip Cookies

These Chocolate Chip Cookies deliver the classic combination of a slightly crisp edge with a soft center, loaded with semisweet chocolate chips. The dough is enriched with both white and brown sugar for balanced sweetness and moisture, and the vanilla adds depth. Baking at 350°F until the edges turn golden ensures a tender, chewy texture that’s widely enjoyed. This recipe is a dependable choice when you want straightforward homemade cookies with familiar flavors and a satisfying texture.

Description

The cookies start with creaming softened butter with both white and brown sugars to create a smooth base. Eggs and vanilla extract are added next, providing moisture and flavor. Baking soda dissolved in hot water and salt are mixed in to help the dough rise and develop texture. Then all-purpose flour and semisweet chocolate chips are folded in to complete the batter. The dough is dropped by spoonfuls onto ungreased pans with space for spreading.

Baked in a 350°F oven for about 10 minutes, the cookies develop golden edges while remaining soft inside. The combination of sugars gives chewiness, while the baking soda and hot water promote tenderness. These cookies are a familiar classic, suitable for everyday baking and easy to share.

This recipe is straightforward to follow and does not require chilling the dough, making it a convenient choice for homemade treats. Ensure enough space on the baking sheet for spreading to avoid merging cookies.
