  • 1 cup brown sugar 210 grams
  • 2 large egg
  • 1 cup milk 8 ounces, 2%

  • 1/2 teaspoon soda 2 grams

  • 3/4 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 1/2 cups chocolate frosting

  • nuts if desired, extra, chopped, for decorating the top

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350ºF. Spray an 8x8 pan with cooking spray. Line the pan with parchment paper if you'd like. This will help the cake come out more cleanly.
  2. In a medium size bowl, mix together the butter, sugar and eggs. 1/2 cup salted butter, 1/2 cup granulated sugar, 1 cup brown sugar, 2 large eggs
  3. Stir in the milk and vanilla. Add the flour, baking soda and salt. Mix just until combined. 1 cup 2% milk, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, 3 cups all-purpose flour, 1/2 teaspoon soda, 1 teaspoon salt
  4. Then fold in the nuts and chocolate chips. 1/2 cup chopped nuts, 3/4 cup white chocolate chips, 3/4 cup chocolate chips
  5. Pour the batter into the pan and bake for 50 minutes, until the center is set or a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. *If the cake starts to get to brown on top, place a piece of foil over it for the last 15-20 minutes of baking.
  6. Allow the cake to cool and then frost the top with chocolate frosting. Sprinkle nuts and chocolate chips on the top, if desired. 1 1/2 cups chocolate frosting, Extra chocolate chips and chopped nuts for decorating the top
